The stories that matter to Waikato, for the Waikato.
A Te Awamutu reader says ratepayers and motorists deserve roads that are properly maintained — not just patched up until the next construction season.
Dear Editor,
I see NZTA has announced another major season of roadworks across Waikato and the Bay of Plenty.
While it’s good to see investment in our roads, I do wonder why so many stretches seem to need fixing again and again.
As someone who regularly drives around the Waikato for work, I’m tired of potholes, uneven surfaces and endless temporary speed limits.
We hear plenty about how much money is being spent, but I’d rather hear how long the repairs are actually expected to last.
Ratepayers and motorists deserve roads that are properly maintained, not just patched up until the next construction season.
Do Waikato roads get fixed properly, or just patched up? Have your say at news@waikatoadvocate.co.nz.
